Some of you may know me as a person who is not shy nor ashamed to share my faith and beliefs with conviction. It’s like being in love, doing something intriguing or exciting, you want to share with the whole world. “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine”, is a song we used to sing in Sunday school back then.
Sunday school days have passed for quite some years now, and I’ve had my share of life’s ups and downs. The valley and mountain top occurrences served as life’s lessons in which I experienced the goodness and greatness of God in unimaginable ways. So I’m thankful for the ups and downs. This means I’m alive, not dead! ;-)
Despite my beliefs and conviction, I do question certain areas of my faith. Don’t you too? For example, why would a loving, omnipotent and sovereign God, allow so much evil and injustice in the world? Why tell me I have the “liberty” to choose, accept and believe, and if I choose not to, I am doomed and punished? Why not perform divine intervention, ceasing all doubt and even denial of God’s existence by some?
With these commonly asked questions that go beyond my comprehension, I’m coming out of the closet of conflict. And no, I haven’t fallen from grace, nor am I in denial; my beliefs are much stronger than my doubts. What I have is a holy curiosity! Job 13:3.
Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning. Reasoning and questioning any subject serves for enlightenment of our God-given minds. This is neither disrespectful nor irreverent. Please shed some light on what makes you curious, in the comment field right under this article.
