Today out of the blue sky I got a proposal to sell my house for a price I almost cannot refuse. Oh, what a deal! Talked to my wife who just as me retired last year. Called my grown up “kids” who live abroad and are constantly inviting us to wrap up and move to Europe. Rest me now to talk with my in-house advisor: My Pillow!
For many reasons sleeping is of great importance to mankind. It’s a priority although many of us neglect it. Most of us live in a house with several rooms: living room, bathroom, dining room, kitchen and several S&S rooms. What ??? Yes, a sleep & sex rooms! Most people have degraded their bedrooms in a secondary living room that they do not realize anymore that a bedroom is a sacred place for Sleep & Sex. All other activities taking place therein, like reading, eating, watching tv and so on, are out of order. Period!!!
All of us have experienced in some time of our lives that sleep doesn’t come easy. No wonder that there are a lot of books written on how to improve the quality of sleep.
There are some simple steps that can help to break the Sleep Stress Cycle.
- Make sleep a priority. Decide to go to bed. Don’t wait till you’re burnt and collapsed to go to bed. A minimum of approximate eight hours of sleep builds a solid structure for a well balanced health. Both physical and emotional. Waking up without an alarm is a very healthy indicator.
- Follow the Natural Cycle. Night time is bed time. We are a micro cosmos in a macro universal solar system. A day-sleep cannot make-good for a night sleep. From approximate eight o’clock at night till four in the morning, the body is in its regenerative state. It needs a good rest to complete its job.
- Eating solid food after eight o’clock at night is a no-no. It inhibits both the digestive system as well as a good sleeping mode. The food putrefies in the digestive system causing gases and acidity which result in weight accumulation.
- A good comfortable sleeping surface is not a luxury. It’s a basic investment in health. Don’t sleep on a mattress till it’s worn out. Maintenance is also very important. From time to time turn the mattress over and if possible give it some sunlight in order to kill all eventual germs.
- Keep your S&S Room kosher. Eliminate as much as possible electronic gadgets! They create a higher concentration of ECO smog which on its time will influence the quality of sleep.
