Like everyone I am a human being
Still it feels like I'm 'in between'
Whites say I'm black
Blacks say I'm colored, almost white
It just never feels right
Asians just don't get me
I don't have their culture and identity
Latinos kind of recognize me
But with them I have a linguistic boundary
Friends say I'm a world citizen
I always liked the sound of it
But a world citizen without a race
Can be a stranger in every place
Still strangers, media and politicians
Want to label and categorize
That's why I like to fantasize
About a place where it doesn't matter
Where belonging to a group
Doesn't necessarily make you better
